Multiple reports in Italy claim Davide Frattesi’s agent Beppe Riso is in talks with Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali as Roma could make a last-minute attempt to sign the Italy international, sending Nicolò Zaniolo to Everton.

Frattesi is a product of Roma academy and a long-time target of the Giallorossi who tried to secure his signature last summer.

Goal.com and Calciomercato.com report his agent is currently in talks with Carnevali in Milan, with Roma pushing for a last-minute deal.

However, Frattesi would only move to the Stadio Olimpico to replace Zaniolo who has been frozen out of the team after snubbing an offer from Bournemouth.

According to both reports, Everton have emerged as an option for the Italy international who didn’t train with his team in the last two days.

It remains to be seen if Roma have time to close the deal with Sassuolo given that the January transfer window in Serie A ends at 19.00 GMT.

On the other hand, the winter transfer window in England ends at 23.00 GMT.

UPDATE: Just a few minutes before the end of the January window in Serie A, Sassuolo director Carnevali said Frattesi would cost more than €30m in the summer.
