Former Italy boss Azeglio Vicini has spoken of his admiration for League leaders Roma, but has handed them a title warning.

The Giallorossi have been a sensation so far this season given that they have a 100 per cent record in the Italian top flight.

Although history shows that any side who have won their first eight games has gone on to win the championship, Vicini is urging caution.

“They play some good football, but it is too soon to be talking about the Scudetto,” the former Azzurri boss told Radio Onda Libera.

“Saying that, it is only right that they are enjoying such a strong start to the season and that they continue to work as they have done.

“Everyone likes this Roma side and that includes me,” he added. “They are obtaining extraordinary results, delivering above expectations.

“Roma are a strong side, who are dragged along by their symbols in Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi.

“I see a consistency in their performances and an important defensive solidity.”

Rudi Garcia’s men have scored 22 goals in eight games so far this season, conceding just once in the process.
