Roma have taken a key step forward in their quest to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Renato Sanches this summer, reports detail.

The Giallorossi are looking to bolster Jose Mourinho’s squad this summer but are heavily limited by their delicate financial positions, forcing them to work on free transfers or loan deals.

The club have already picked up Rasmus Kristensen on loan and signed Houssem Aouar and Evan Ndicka on free transfers, and now the goal is to strengthen the midfield.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Roma have been informed that PSG would be willing to let Renato Sanches leave on a loan deal with a buy option attached this summer, a move that would also see the Parisians pay a portion of his almost €6m net per season salary.

The 25-year-old was reportedly offered to the Giallorossi more than a month ago but the club wanted to explore deals for Davide Frattesi and Marcel Sabitzer first. After missing out on both, now Roma could look to complete their fourth signing of the summer.
