While Georginio Wijnaldum will land today, Roma have also reportedly struck a deal for Manchester United defender Eric Bailly.

The Giallorossi are very active on the transfer market and seem determined to at least secure a top four finish under Jose Mourinho in his second season.

According to Calciomercato.com and others, Roma will get Bailly from Manchester United on loan with an option to buy for €8m.

He had also been approached by Milan and Fulham.

The negotiations with PSG finally paid off and Wijnaldum’s flight has already left from Paris, having first stopped off in Rotterdam to pick up members of his family.

That will be a loan with option to buy, becoming an obligation with Champions League qualification, at €9-10m.

PSG will pay 50 per cent of his salary during the loan period and the player has agreed to give up several bonuses in order to get the move completed.

There were already several hundred Roma fans at the airport waiting an hour before he was due to touch down.

  1. If we sign Bailey also, my goodness!! He was a monster under Jose at United!! The signings Roma are making are enough for Europe to take notice!! The Mourinho affect is fully on, even club management full under his spell!! Great work by Pinto and Fredkins as well!! ❤️💛🐺🔥🔥🔥

He probably starting to talk about the plane now.. oh wait, i think he forgot. It’s a private jet, owned by Roma president Friedkin.

  3. Two very nice signings. Even if Zaniolo leaves, the squad is still competitive, which isn’t always the way with Roma in the summer window.

  4. @Des
Yes, no one can hijack Roma‘s players anymore after they board the plane. It’s usually Dan Friedkin himself who pilots.

  5. After this mercato, I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of whining and moaning as soon as results go south for Mourinho. He has bought all these ready made players. The pressure will be unbearable on them. They need to win immediately.

  6. @Milan Fan – All clowns love to pray for Mourinho to fail. Many of Roma‘s new signings are NOT “ready made,” as at least 3 barely played in their clubs last season. They will definitely be taking time to get into top shape and gel with the boys to create a winning chemistry. So get out of here with that BS trying to make it seem like if Roma doesn’t go straight to the top then something is wrong. So typical. Go worry about your team, which has mad pressure to protect it’s title.

  7. @RomaRomaRoma

First of all, calm down. I’m just stating facts.

I didn’t say they should go straight to the top. They’re not good enough for that and apparently even you know it. By winning I meant they need to clinch fourth place, which won’t be an easy feat.

You’d be happy with another 5th to 7th place finish after all these signings? These players are all in their prime age, playing a lot or not. Dybala, Wijnaldum, Bailly and even Matic. You want to wait a year or two for these guys to gel and half of them are either retired or entering their twilight years.

  8. @milan fan, its obvious you want roma to fail, typical mou haters, truth is you guys are worried that roma is a force to reckon now. Good luck with your team.

  9. I really don’t understand why people who support other teams make negative comments on other teams after making good signings, why do you even have an opinion about a team that you don’t even support if no one asked you, or wait why am I asking everyone knows why because they’re haters…

Here’s a Lil advice IF YOU HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY DON’T SAY ANYTHINGAT ALL ESPECIALLY IF IT DON’T CONCERN YOU..🤷🏽‍♂️

  10. It’s a free world buddy. Anyone can comment on anything and I am very attached to Serie A in general. I want Roma to represent Italy well in Europe. Everything I said is a fact. If you can disprove them you are welcome to it otherwise if you have nothing constructive to add to the discussion you’re wasting everybody’s time yourself included.

  11. The pressure is all on roma, no top 4 and the club will be set back years. Simpley put the pressure in Rome on the team is crazy the fans demand results now not next season. Can Jose deliver? We will soon find out
