Roma are planning on adding up to four players to their squad in the event that Paulo Dybala leaves for Al-Qadsiah, but the Giallorossi will not attempt to replace La Joya directly, according to Tuesday’s reports.

Dybala has been subject of interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah, who have offered the former Juventus forward a three-year deal worth a reported €20m in wages per season.

The player, whose Roma contract expires at the end of the 2024-25 season, is taking his time to make a decision either way. The club, meanwhile, are beginning to discuss possible additions to soften the blow should La Joya leave this summer.

Roma look to strengthen four positions in event of Dybala exit

According to updates from Sky Sport Italia, Roma could add up to four new players to replace Dybala, but they will not try to bring in a direct replacement in the same position.

Instead, the intention of Daniele De Rossi and his staff would be to add a few players in multiple positions to build a more balanced side.

Among the positions that Roma would like to improve are the left side of their attack, a new right-back, as well as another midfielder and potentially one more centre-back.

Two specific names have already been linked with moves to the Stadio Olimpico to cover those first two positions. They are Nice winger Jeremie Boga and Rennes right-back Lorenz Assignon.

Roma would then look to add another midfielder and centre-back, but that is only likely to happen if Dybala leaves for Saudi Arabia.

The Giallorossi have already added Enzo Le Fee, Matias Soule, Artem Dovbyk, Samuel Dahl and Maty Ryan to their ranks this summer, and also made Angelino’s loan deal from RB Leipzig permanent at the end of May.
