According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Roma owners are trying to force Nicolo Zaniolo’s move to Bournemouth threatening that he won’t play for the Giallorossi again if he stays at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Italy international has asked to leave in the winter transfer window and hoped for a transfer to Milan. However, the Rossoneri have called themselves out as they can only offer a loan deal with an obligation to buy for a maximum €25m.

On the other hand, Bournemouth have made an offer to sign the player permanently for €30m plus add-ons, nearing Roma’s €40m asking price.

The Giallorossi have accepted the offer from England and are trying to force Zaniolo’s exit. Nevertheless, the ex-Inter and Fiorentina starlet is not convinced about joining a team that is struggling in the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Even if José Mourinho said last week that he would count on Zaniolo from February if he hadn’t left the Stadio Olimpico in the current transfer window, according to Il Corriere dello Sport, Zaniolo won’t play for Roma again if he doesn’t join Bournemouth in January.

Owner Dan Friedkin is said to be furious with the player who handed in a transfer request last week and was not included in the squad for a 2-0 win at Spezia.

The Giallorossi visit table leaders Napoli on Sunday and Zaniolo won’t travel with his teammates to the Stadio Maradona.

Zaniolo’s contract at the Stadio Olimpico expires in June 2024.
