This sparked speculation that the imminent face to face negotiations for Dzeko have been brought forward to Monday.

Sabatini had already confirmed the Bosnia international was a transfer target and was expected to begin intensive talks some time next week.

It appears that this has been rushed to Monday, probably because Manchester City just agreed to pay £49m (€68m) for Liverpool striker Raheem Sterling.

Dzeko will have even less room in the squad now and Roma are pushing to have their new forward in place before flying out for the pre-season tour in Australia.

It’s reported Manchester City will accept €15m for Dzeko rather than the original €20m price-tag.

The Giallorossi already agreed personal terms with the player, a five-year deal worth €4.5m per season.
