Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has reportedly flown to England for Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko, but a plan B has emerged.
The two clubs seemed to have reached a deadlock over their valuations of the striker, but La Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that Sabatini has returned to try and make progress for a deal.
However, it remains likely that the player will be too expensive, with wage demands of €4m per season and an asking price of around €30m, and alternatives have been suggested.

Gazzetta believes that Roma’s plan B would be to make a move for Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke or Alexandre Lacazette of Lyon.
