Roma failed to hit their goal of making just over €28m in capital gains by June 30, meaning they’ll have to pay a penalty to UEFA, reports detail.

Calciomercato.com highlights how the Giallorossi were around €3m short of their target, so will have to pay a penalty fine to UEFA, costing just under €5m.

Roma managed to avoid a more serious punishment – like European squad list reduction or exclusion from competition – due to how close they were to the target.

The Giallorossi made around €26m in net capital gains in the financial year ending June 30 – Benjamin Tahirovic (€5.5m in surplus), Justin Kluivert (€7.5m), Cristian Volpato (€7.5m), Filippo Missori (€2.5m), Ruben Providence (€300,000) and Carles Perez (around €2m), as well as add-ons linked to Nicolo Zaniolo.

Offers for Roger Ibanez and Nicola Zalewski had arrived recently, but the club decided to pay the fine rather than rushing through a deal, giving them more flexibility for this summer.

  1. Lmfao this is what uefa worries about while the Saudi league completely shifts the paradigm of football.

Bring the superleague, have all of Europe annex uefa out, and now every club in Europe will get 50% more money in their pockets

    LEECH UEFA TRASH

  2. Totally discussing! While clubs like PSG, Chelsea, and. many others… are paying wages way o ER 100% of their revenue, make transfer deals worth 200% of their whole. budget… yet, clubs like Roma, short of 3 million of what UEFA dictates them are being fined! them, are being fined
