Roma are reportedly on the verge of securing a deal for Artem Dovbyk as they look to reach a total agreement with Girona.

The Giallorossi are on the cusp of signing the 27-year-old Ukrainian striker in a bid to bolster Daniele De Rossi’s attack, needing some more firepower after Romelu Lukaku’s return to Chelsea. Tammy Abraham could also be sold, further increasing the importance of a deal.

Dovbyk has been seriously targeted by Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid but he gave a clear rejection to the Spanish club last week, only wanting to join up with De Rossi and Roma. He’s already agreed personal terms with the club, willing to pen a four-year deal worth €3m net per season plus add-ons.

Roma on verge of Dovbyk deal

Gianluca Di Marzio highlights how Roma have offered Girona a fixed €32m plus €3m in add-ons for Dovbyk, which is almost enough to reach a total agreement. Talks between the two clubs are ongoing and the Italian club will likely propose a slight raise to help bridge the gap and reach a deal.

In the meantime, the Giallorossi have welcomed Matias Soule in the capital after agreeing a deal with Juventus, adding a talented youngster to De Rossi’s squad.
