Roma have reportedly entered the race for Medhi Benatia, but Juventus remain favourites.

The Bayern Munich defender appears certain to leave this summer, as the Bavarian side have already confirmed the signing of Mats Hummels.

Benatia left Roma to move to the Bundesliga in 2014, and La Repubblica believes a return to the capital is not impossible.

The newspaper reports that the Giallorossi are willing to offer a big loan fee, with the option to make the move permanent.

However, Tuttomercatoweb states that Juventus have been in contact with the centre-back for the past two months, and are very much favourites for his signature.

The Bianconeri are thought to be offering a one-year loan, with the obligation to buy if Benatia makes a certain number of appearances.

There is a three-year contract on the table – one for the loan and two in case of redemption – with the option for a further season.
