The two men charged in connection with the assault of a Liverpool fan ahead of Roma’s game on Tuesday have been refused bail at today’s hearing.
Sean Cox is in an induced coma after an alleged attack with a belt, and remains in critical condition at the Walton Neurological Centre.
Filippo Lombardi appeared in court this afternoon charged with charged with violent disorder and wounding/inflict grievous bodily harm, while Daniele Sciusco is also charged with violent disorder.

The charges were read to the men via an interpreter, but they gave no indication of pleas.
A police officer told the court that Cox remains in a critical but stable condition, and both men were refused bail and taken to the cells.
They will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on May 24.
