In less than 24 hours, more than 600 Roma fans have come together to crowdfund the fine handed to Gianluca Mancini for waving a flag with the Lazio colours and a rat on it.
The 27-year-old Italian defender was already the Giallorossi’s hero of the Derby della Capitale after scoring the winning goal in the first half, doing enough to secure all three points for Daniele De Rossi’s side.
After the full-time whistle, Mancini decided to celebrate by waving a flag showing the Lazio colours and a rat on it, a move than infuriated the Biancocelesti faithful and further enamoured him to the Roma fanbase. He was handed a €5000 fine by the Serie A sporting judge as a result of the move.

A Go Fund Me page popped up following the sporting judge’s ruling, set up by Roma fan Lorenzo Contucci, and after less than 24 hours over 620 fans have come together to raise €5900, more than enough to pay for Mancini’s fine.
Accompanying the page was an explanation, which highlights that the money will be given to charity should Mancini not accept, reading:
“Many Roma fans, from Curva and beyond, have asked to do something about the €5000 fine that the Sports Judge gave to Mancini for waving the flag with the rat at the end of Roma/Lazio 1-0.
“We believe that the Rome derby is also about ferocious joking and vulgar teasing and for this reason, beyond the judgment of moralistic buffoons, we say only one thing to the latter:
“We’ll pay Mancini’s fine!
“Therefore, as per the title, Roma fans who agree with what Mancini did are invited to make a donation to reach the above amount to pay his fine.
“If our Mancio does not want or cannot receive the amount that we will collect, the entire sum will be given to charity, as has already been done in the past for the masks with the ASR logo (for those who do not remember, the entire proceeds were donated to Bambin Gesù and another social voluntary association).
“Naturally, I will personally keep you updated on the progress and outcome of the collection.

@andre both Rome clubs’ supporters are crazy. Winning derby is even more important than scudetto for them. No wonder they both have only won 5 scudetti in total.
