Roma are ready to welcome Chelsea outcast Romelu Lukaku and one fan has already painted a mural for the Belgian in the streets of the Italian capital.

The Giallorossi have agreed to sign the 30-year-old striker on a €5.8m loan deal with no permanence clause attached. He’s already agreed personal terms, willing to lower his salary to €7.5m net in order to push through the move.

Lukaku is expected to fly to Rome with Giallorossi president Dan Friedkin today, set to land around 17.00 local time. He will then undergo his medicals tomorrow before putting pen to paper on his contract.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, a mural dedicated to Lukaku has already appeared in the streets of the Italian capital, courtesy of Roma fan ‘Anonimo74’, located not far from murals of Jose Mourinho, Francesco Totti and Paulo Dybala.

On Via dei Capocci in Rione Monti, a mural showing Lukaku dressed like Russell Crowe’s Gladiator has appeared, accompanied by the inscription ROMELV, using a ‘v’ as the ‘u’ in classic Roman style. The background is yellow and black, the iconic colours of Roma.

  1. Who makes a mural dedicated to this player. Nowadays players are trash and fans are trash as well.
