The shot-stopper only just turned 18 and rejected the chance to join Atleti this week, as his family wants him to finish his studies in Italy before going abroad.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, director Walter Sabatini hopes Scuffet can agree to the move down to Rome in July 2015.
This would give him more time to play regularly in Serie A with Udinese and gain experience before such a big step.
