Jose Mourinho’s Roma did not have a good outing in their 1-0 loss to Napoli yesterday, putting in their worst attacking performance for seven years.

The Giallorossi struggled to match the intensity of Luciano Spalletti’s side in last night’s clash at the Stadio Olimpico and ultimately fell to a late wonder strike from Victor Osimhen, who continued the Partenopei’s dominant start to the season. Mourinho was left frustrated on the sidelines and could only watch as Napoli overpowered his Roma side and took home all three points.

As highlighted by Corriere dello Sport, Roma failed to take a single shot on target in yesterday’s loss to Napoli, the first time they’ve looked so toothless in almost seven years. The last time the Giallorossi failed to register a shot on target came in December 2015 in a 0-0 draw against the Partenopei.

It was a worrying performance for Mourinho, who had ambitions of guiding his Roma to a top four finish this season.

  1. I must have been watching a different game!! I thought Roma played better then Napoli in the first half, they were definitely more intense then Napoli were. Second half we sat back but that’s what happens when you play a team with a superior squad..

  2. Tough game, very physical. Rome played tough but Napoli kept coming. Only difference a great shot by Osimhen. Kudos to both teams for a very entertaining battle and Kudos to The Romanista fans they kept the faith all game.
