Roma may have ended their pursuit of Riyad Mahrez after they refused to meet Leicester City’s €44m asking price.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Roma’s bid of €35m reflected their valuation of the winger, but it was “returned to sender” by Leicester without reply.

However, the broadcaster stresses more will be known about the Giallorossi’s stance in “the next few days or hours”.
