Roma have not called up Roger Ibanez for today’s friendly with Toulouse as they work to sell the defender to Al-Ahli.

The 24-year-old Brazilian defender has been transfer listed by the Giallorossi as they work to generate some resources to work with for the remaining weeks of the summer transfer window.

Nottingham Forest emerged this week with a €25m offer for Ibanez but it was far below Roma’s €35m asking price. In recent days, Al-Ahli then entered the fray and reportedly agreed personal terms with the 24-year-old, who is expected to earn over €6m net per season.

Calciomercato.com details how Roma are gearing up for their penultimate pre-season friendly with Toulouse and Jose Mourinho’s squad does not include Ibanez, making his position in the transfer market clear.

Talks between the Giallorossi and Al-Ahli are still ongoing and both parties are optimistic that an agreement can be reached soon.

Should a deal be found, Ibanez would travel to Paris to carry out his pre-transfer medicals before signing his contract with the Saudi side.
