With Thomas Di Benedetto's takeover close to completion, Roma are drawing up a wish list of players for next season.

Di Benedetto arrived in Rome on Monday afternoon and was mobbed by journalists eager to discover his plans for the club.

The American told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he wants Roma to finish in the top three places in Serie A every season.

Di Benedetto has been in contact with England general manager Franco Baldini who has recommended Walter Sabatini as a director of sport.

Sabatini recently oversaw Palermo's transfer policy bringing the likes of Javier Pastore, Josip Ilicic and Abel Hernandez to Serie A.

However, it's said that Sabatini already has an agreement with Sampdoria ahead of next season.

Nevertheless, speculation is mounting that Roma will launch bids for Javier Mascherano, Gabi Milito, Federico Balzaretti, Diego Lugano and Gigi Buffon.
