Manchester United reportedly offered Donny van de Beek to Roma on loan, but Jose Mourinho did not want the midfielder, while Robin Olsen is heading to Sheffield United.
According to LaRoma24.it, the proposal was made on transfer deadline day when United directors called Roma chief Tiago Pinto to suggest the idea.
It would be a dry loan without an option to buy, so a low-cost alternative to give him playing time.
However, the same report insists Mourinho turned down Van De Beek, wanting a player with different characteristics in his Giallorossi squad.
Manchester United paid €39m to sign the Dutch international from Ajax in September 2020, but he made very little impact at Old Trafford.
Roma have won all four of their competitive games so far this season between Serie A and the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Meanwhile, Sky Sport Italia also report that goalkeeper Olsen has finalised a loan move to Sheffield United, after he had been linked with Venezia.
