Roma are in London to negotiate Mehdi Benatia to Chelsea, Mattia Destro to Tottenham and Manchester City’s Stevan Jovetic.
It is widely reported that director Walter Sabatini will be in London today, but there are different reasons given for his presence.
Italian sources insist he is there to discuss selling striker Destro to Spurs for €25m, matching the offer from Wolfsburg.
Others assure the main purpose of the visit is to work out terms with Chelsea for Moroccan defender Benatia, who is valued at €30m.
It has been noted both players were left out of Friday’s 4-1 friendly win over Austrians Wiener Sportklub, though Destro was officially sidelined by a stomach bug.
Now the Daily Mirror has another theory, claiming Sabatini is in England to ask Manchester City for Jovetic.
Roma are eager to sign the Montenegro talent on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season and would return the ex-Fiorentina striker to Serie A.
The Citizens value Jovetic at around €25m – the same cost as Destro.
