Roma defender Roger Ibanez is reported to be on the verge of a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur, especially as the club needs to raise €30m by the end of the month.
The centre-back is one of the primary choices to leave the Stadio Olimpico this summer, as he is under contract until June 2025 and not always a first choice in Jose Mourinho’s back three this season.
According to news agency Ansa, there is a Premier League club advancing in its negotiations for Ibanez and it is believed to be Tottenham.
Roma need to sell in order to raise funds of circa €30m by the deadline of June 30 to balance the books or risk further Financial Fair Play penalties.
The 24-year-old defender can also play as a right-back and was purchased from Atalanta for €9m after an initial loan period in the summer of 2021.
He made 48 competitive appearances this season and also managed to score three goals.
