Sky Sport Italia claim that Roma defender Roger Ibanez has agreed personal terms with Al-Ahli and is closing on a €30m transfer, despite interest from Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.
The centre-back has been on the market all summer and his sale would give them the necessary funds to find a new striker.
There had been rumours over the last few days that Nottingham Forest made a proposal, while Aston Villa were also mentioned as showing interest in the Brazil international.
However, Ibanez was not eager to make a move to the Premier League for teams that would be fighting against relegation.
According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Ibanez has now agreed personal terms with Al-Ahli for a move to the Saudi Pro League.
Although a deal has not yet been struck with Roma, that is not expected to be too much of a problem.
The 24-year-old has two senior caps for Brazil and was purchased from Atalanta for €9m plus bonuses, including a 10 per cent cut of the sell-on fee.
