According to multiple reports in Italy, Roma defender Federico Fazio is close to joining Salernitana on a free transfer.
The former Tottenham defender is not part of José Mourinho’s plans and is looking for a new club.
Salernitana have offered him an escape route and according to Il Corriere dello Sport and Calciomercato.com, Fazio is willing to move down south to help the Granata earn Serie A survival.
Salernitana have recently hired former Roma chief Walter Sabatini are their new director of football.
According to Calciomercato.com, Fazio would move to the Stadio Arechi on a free transfer with part of the salary paid by Roma.
Fazio has yet to make his season debut and played his last Serie A match on April 25, 2021.
