Roma dealt Ibanez injury blow

Roma defender Roger Ibanez has suffered a knee injury and could remain out of action for up to two months, reports in Italy claim.

The 23-year-old was forced off the pitch in the Giallorossi’s 2-0 loss against Inter on Tuesday.

According to Il Tempo newspaper, he will remain out of action for three or four weeks, but  Calciomercato.com claims Ibanez could be forced to the sidelines for a longer time, missing up to five weeks of action.

If the former Atalanta man takes so long to recover, José Mourinho will see him return after the international break in March, meaning the defender will miss the Rome derby on March 20.

Ibanez has played 33 games across all competitions this season, scoring four goals.

However, there was good news for Tammy Abraham, who was also subbed off at San Siro on Tuesday with a muscular issue. The former Chelsea striker is expected to be available for the match against Sassuolo on Sunday.
