Daniele De Rossi will have a true test of his mettle in the dugout in the coming weeks as Roma prepare for an incredibly difficult run of matches.

The former midfielder has shined in the dugout since taking over the Giallorossi back in January winning seven of his first nine league matches in charge, only losing Inter and drawing to Fiorentina. His work has put the club in the thick of the fight for a top four finish with Bologna.

De Rossi has also impressed on the European stage, guiding Roma to the quarter-finals after beating Feyenoord 6-4 on aggregate in the knockout play-offs and Brighton 4-1 in the Round of 16, instantly making a name for himself across the continent.

De Rossi test at Roma

Whilst Roma have a fairly routine Easter Monday outing, travelling to face a relatively unimpressive Lecce side, their schedule after that looks particularly difficult for De Rossi and his players, setting up a tough five weeks.

From April 6th to May 12th, the Giallorossi will face Lazio, Milan twice, Udinese, Bologna, Napoli, Juventus and Atalanta. Whilst the clashes with the Rossoneri are in the Europa League, the rest are testing Serie A outings that could prove decisive in their fight for a Champions League spot.

With De Rossi only having a few months left on his contract, Roma are planning to offer a new long-term deal to the former midfielder, keen to place their trust in him after his incredible start in the dugout.
