Eldor Shomurodov could sign for Roma as early as tomorrow, according to Sky Sport Italia, after agreeing a deal worth €18m with Genoa.
The negotiations are continuing to progress rapidly, as a basic deal was struck last night, with final details still to be revised.
It’s going to be a loan deal with option to buy, which becomes an obligation with relatively simple targets achieved during this period.
Roma are expected to pay €2m for the one-season loan, plus another €16m to purchase him outright.
Genoa should also retain a 20 per cent cut of any future sale after he leaves the Stadio Olimpico.
The Uzbekistan international impressed in his Serie A debut, scoring eight goals in 31 appearances for the Grifone.
Shomurodov just turned 26 last month and can play as a centre-forward, but also in a wider supporting role to another striker.
Genoa paid €7.5m to sign him from Russian club Rostov in October 2020.
