José Mourinho has confirmed Leonardo Spinazzola will remain out of action for six months and the Giallorossi are considering several players to replace him, including Marcos Alonso, Cristiano Biraghi and Federico Dimarco.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Fiorentina full-back is the favourite to replace Spinazzola at the Stadio Olimpico.

Mourinho: ‘Spain not as strong as Italy, Spinazzola…’

The 28-year-old will undergo Achilles tendon injury today and Mourinho has confirmed the Italy defender will remain out of action for six months.

Biraghi shares the same agent as Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout and this could facilitate the deal. The opportunity to sign Biraghi on loan with an option to buy makes him one of Roma’s first choices to replace Spinazzola.

Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso is another option, but the Giallorossi need the Blues to pay part of his salary. Emerson Palmieri, who is expected to replace Spinazzola against Spain on Tuesday, is another option, given that his contract expires in June 2022.

La Gazzetta dello Sport confirms Marcos Alonso and Biraghi are options for the Giallorossi, while Tiago Pinto dreams of brining Robin Gosens to the Stadio Olimpico.

However, Atalanta value the Germany international at €40m. Inter don’t want as much for Federico Dimarco, who can leave the Giuseppe Meazza for €10m, but according to Sky Sport, Roma don’t want to offer as much to secure the services of the former Hellas Verona man.
