Roma have identified Manchester United’s Scott McTominay as an interesting option to strengthen their midfield this summer, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

The Giallorossi are looking to pick up some reinforcements this summer to help give Jose Mourinho the necessary resources for a top four fight next season.

Roma have already started to consider a number of options to strengthen their midfield this summer, including Paris Saint-Germain’s Renato Sanches and Bayern Munich’s Marcel Sabitzer.

As reported by Di Marzio, the latest name on Roma’s list is McTominay, who could be on the way out of Manchester United.

The 26-year-old Scot only has two years left on his contract and may start falling down the pecking order under coach Erik ten Hag.

Mourinho remembers McTominay well from their time together at the Red Devils and appreciates the 26-year-old’s qualities.

Last season, the Scottish midfielder scored three goals and provided one assist in 39 appearances across all competitions.
