Roma concern after Renato Sanches leaves training injured

Renato Sanches has been with Roma for less than 10 days and has already caused concern after withdrawing from today’s training session in pain.

The 26-year-old Portuguese midfielder joined the Giallorossi last week on a €1m loan deal with a €15m conditional obligation to buy clause attached, linked to playing 60% of the total matches.

He was one of two midfield reinforcements for Jose Mourinho’s squad in the Italian capital following Nemanja Matic’s move to Rennes, alongside Paris Saint-Germain teammate Leandro Paredes.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Renato Sanches withdrew from Roma’s training session in Trigoria today, complaining of muscle pain. He’ll undergo a round of medical tests in the coming hours to understand the seriousness of his injury.

He could be forced to miss out on Roma’s upcoming Serie A clash with Hellas Verona, scheduled for August 26. The 26-year-old saw 25 minutes of action in the club’s season opener against Salernitana.
