Jose Mourinho has made it abundantly clear he wants to stay at Roma, and the fans feel the same, so it’s reported the club will offer him a new contract with certain limitations.

The Friedkin family who run the Serie A side have taken months to consider all their options, as they entered the third and final season of Mourinho’s current deal.

The Special One has said multiple times he will gladly remain at the Stadio Olimpico, but that the decision is ultimately down to the owners.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Friedkins have now made their choice and will offer Mourinho a limited new contract.

It is going to only be for one more season, with an option for a second that is to be activated only if he secures qualification to the Champions League.

The budget is still extremely small due to the Financial Fair Play parameters and the club needs to appoint a new director of sport, as Tiago Pinto is leaving straight after the January transfer window.

With all that in mind, Roma do not feel they can afford to lose Mourinho, who acts as more than just a coach at the club, also representing a focal point for the fans and media.

  1. The fans are purely star struck. Why do our fans fill a stadium purely for a coach, who plays rubbish football?

Why doesn’t anyone know anything about the game anymore?
