Henrikh Mkhitaryan is reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Roma over a new deal at the Olimpico.

The Armenia internatioanl’s future has been uncertain since the Giallorossi announced Mkhitaryan’s former coach Jose Mourinho’s will arrive ahead of 2021-22.

Despite the reported issue between the pair from their time together at Manchester United, Tuttomercatoweb claims the duo are willing to move forward together.

Roma have started to negotiate with the 32-year-old, who contributed 13 goals and 11 assists in 34 Serie A games this term.

The outlet claims La Lupa prepares a two-year deal with conditions, and the two parties are currently discussing the requirements to trigger an automatic renewal for the second year of the contract.

Mourinho has reportedly asked Roma to try to sign Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic too, but the report claims the Giallorossi consider the Serbian’s salary too high.
