Roma are reportedly close to signing Atalanta defender Gianluca Mancini, while Juventus are happy to let them take Gonzalo Higuain.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma have not put all their eggs in the Nicolo Barella basket, despite his wish to join Inter.
That is because they are ‘very close’ to agreeing a deal for Mancini and have raised the stakes for Jordan Veretout, offering the Fiorentina midfielder almost €3m a season.

Work would also be continuing on Real Betis defender Marc Bartra, but the more pressing news is that Di Marzio claims Juve have given the Lupi approval to proceed with the track for Higuain.
The striker is back at Juve after Chelsea passed up their option to buy him, but he may yet have a place in Maurizio Sarri’s plans for the Bianconeri.
Furthermore, his agent-brother maintains he will not play for another Italian team.
