Roma are reportedly closing on a deal for Arsenal and Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka, for €15m plus performance-related bonuses.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Giallorossi have no intention of raising their bid beyond the €15m mark, but can get close to the €18m asking price with the use of add-ons.

It’s suggested these will be €1m upon his 30th competitive appearance for the club during the 2021-22 season, plus other bonuses activated by the number of goals he scores in Italy and the targets achieved by Roma under Jose Mourinho.

Xhaka has already agreed personal terms with Roma, a four-year contract worth €2.5m per season.

The 28-year-old is impressing with Switzerland at Euro 2020, helping them to the Round of 16, where they will face France.
