Sky Sport Italia claim Roma are close to securing Rui Patricio from Wolves for €10m plus bonuses, while Arsenal rejected their latest Granit Xhaka proposal.

The Giallorossi are busy rebuilding under their new coach Jose Mourinho and that means picking some players from the Premier League.

According to the latest reports out of Italy, a deal is close with Wolverhampton Wanderers for Portugal international goalkeeper Rui Patricio.

It’ll eventually be done for circa €10m plus add-ons for the 33-year-old shot-stopper, who impressed at UEFA EURO 2020 for Portugal.

As for Swiss midfielder Xhaka, Arsenal have again turned down the latest proposal, said to be for €12m plus €3m in performance-related bonuses.

The negotiations continue apace and all parties are confident they will reach an agreement relatively soon.

It is delayed by Switzerland reaching the EURO 2020 quarter-finals after eliminating France.

After that game, decided on penalties following a 3-3 draw, Xhaka dropped a huge hint he wanted the Roma transfer.

Asked to give the interview in Italian, he replied: “Not yet.”

It is hoped that once Xhaka is free from his international commitments, he can push Arsenal into accepting the €15m transfer.
