Mkhitaryan is out injured at the moment and a major doubt to feature in Wednesday’s Europa Conference League Final against Feyenoord in Tirana too.

Meanwhile, his contract is due to expire on June 30 and there is still no renewal, especially amid reports that the Armenia international has been in negotiations to join Inter as a free agent.

However, this suggestion irritated Roma director of sport Tiago Pinto and he hit back at those rumours.

“I spoke to Micki about whether he is ready for the Final, that is all we are concentrated on. I know him and his professionalism, I am 100 per cent sure it is a lie to say he is talking to Inter,” Tiago Pinto told DAZN.

“He will do everything possible to play a Final for Roma. As I have said before, I am not here to talk about the transfer market, we have a season to finish.”

When the director was asked about Francesco Totti declaring he would try to convince Dybala to join Roma, there was the same response.

“I know that I might be boring for reporters, but at least I am consistent. We have two big matches to be concentrated on and I don’t think talking about the transfer market will help that.

“I promise that after Wednesday’s match we can talk about the transfer market for three months.”
