Reports in Italy and Argentina claim Roma have worked out a way of meeting Paulo Dybala’s salary demands, but he is still waiting for Inter’s proposal before making a decision.

La Joya is a free agent from June 30 when his contract with Juventus is allowed to expire.

Although there is interest from the Premier League, such as Arsenal, Manchester United and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur, Dybala seems eager to remain in Serie A after so many years with Juventus and before that Palermo.

According to TyC Sports, Roma and Jose Mourinho are trying to convince the Argentina international to be part of their project, having just won the Conference League.

There are two main drawbacks, the first is that they will only play in the Europa League next season rather than the Champions League, the other their salary cap.

Now the Corriere dello Sport maintains Giallorossi director Tiago Pinto has calculated a way of reaching the €7m per season wage demands by offering €5m plus bonuses that will climb as the contract goes on.

It is not dissimilar to the proposal Inter are planning, but have not yet put forward.

After being pushed out of Juventus, the player above all wants somewhere he feels appreciated.

All these sources warn a quick decision is unlikely, as Dybala will take at least two to four weeks in order to evaluate all the offers and make his choice.

6 thought on “Roma challenging Inter for Dybala deal”
  1. Good for Dybala. From a player perspective I hope he gets paid what he thinks he is worth. As a Juventus fan I would have liked him to stay, but with his injuries and how bad we have managed our money we couldn’t offer him what he wanted. Hopefully Juve start to manage their money better and we can challenge for the scudetto soon

  3. He is never going to join Roma. They are a small club, who often sells their best players to bigger teams. Dybala is going to enjoy his time at Inter after freeing himself from PhD Max. A blessing in disguise and now he will have to up the tempo. It will take time as he has been accustomed to the back, back, down, down. The talent is there and the injuries will not be as bad, given the fact that PhD Max and the J Medical team are the world’s best in creating them. Milan come in second place.

  4. Right Right – inter is losing their best players in droves: Lukaku, Hakimi, now Bastoni and Peresic. Inter are a financial mess, for a second year running. Even missing payments last year. Roma‘s project is a lot more stable, and at least Dybala won’t have to worry about not getting paid on time.

  5. Roma have 20m prize money after crowned UECL Champion. They will have some potent to sign him. Roma should challenge him with clause bonus of UCL qualification and large bonus with Europa League titleas they will get prize money to pay him. However they will have to sell him later as they will not be able to pay him later
