Roma captain Pellegerini out until January

Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini has suffered an injury in the right quadriceps and will reportedly be out for 30 to 40 days, meaning he will miss the rest of 2021.

The Giallorossi are preparing for a busy schedule before Christmas, but coach Jose Mourinho must cope without captain Pellegrini for the remainder of the year.

The 25-year-old was replaced after 15 minutes of the 1-0 win against Torino on Sunday, when he was replaced by Carles Perez in the initial stages of the clash at the Olimpico.

Sky Sport Italia reports Pellegrini had instrumental tests today, which revealed an injury in the right quadriceps.

The report from Angelo Mangiante claims the Roma captain will remain out for 30 to 40 days and will thus not be back until January.

Roma are currently preparing to play Bologna at the Renato Dall’Ara on Wednesday, aiming to build on a run of three consecutive wins across all competitions.

Roma have kept three clean sheets on the bounce, including the wins in Serie A against Genoa and Torino.
