As Tiago Djalò undergoes his medical, Roma also want another defender, asking after Milan Skriniar, Mats Hummels, Mario Hermoso, Loic Bade and Nayef Aguerd.

The Giallorossi had been due to spend €25m for Kevin Danso from RC Lens, but he failed his medical last night and the deal was abandoned.

Instead, they secured Tiago Djalò on loan from Juventus with an option to buy for €9m plus €1m in add-ons and he is currently undergoing his medical tests.

Meanwhile, multiple reports also state that they want another defender with more experience at a low cost.

Roma see Hummels as added bonus

Sky Sport Italia claim they asked after free agent Hummels, the 35-year-old Germany international who was believed to be close to Real Sociedad.

Other options could include ex-Inter defender Skriniar on loan from PSG, who is not eager on a transfer to the Saudi Pro League, and free agent Hermoso.

A more intriguing alternative is Loic Bade, with reports from Footmercato that Roma have already made an offer worth €20m after he turned down VfB Stuttgart.

Sky Sport Italia also point to West Ham United player Aguerd, who was also linked with Fiorentina and Al-Ittihad.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports Germany report that Borussia Monchengladbach rejected the opening Roma offer for Manu Kone, demanding €20m plus €5m in add-ons, but the player has already agreed personal terms.

Negotiations will continue throughout deadline day.
