Roma booed at Christmas dinner

Roma's Christmas dinner was spoiled by hundreds of supporters booing and throwing eggs.

The Giallorossi are in a results crisis that has them slowly sliding away from the Scudetto race, and which culminated in the humiliating Coppa Italia defeat to Serie B side Spezia.

The club is also in a rift with the fans, as the Curva Sud was left empty in protest over the last few outings.

Some supporters did show up however for the club's Christmas dinner, which took place at a restaurant in Rome's Via Tiburtina, the day after the defeat to Spezia.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Vocegiallorossa.it, there were chants and insults against the players, and some Romanisti threw eggs against the club bus.

Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini, particularly unpopular at the moment, left the event without releasing any comments.
