Monaco have approached Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, as Roma are keeping their options open with Dejan Lovren.
Multiple sources had reported that Rugani was on the verge of a move to Roma, on loan for €5m with obligation to buy at the end of the season for another €25m.
However, Sportitalia now suggest the Giallorossi would prefer to have an option to buy rather than an obligation.

Now Goal.com maintain Monaco have made their interest in the Italy international known, although it is too early to call it a negotiation between the clubs.
Meanwhile, English media continue to push the story that Lovren is Roma’s first choice to replace Kostas Manolas at centre-back.
He is certainly still an option, especially as he was left out of the Liverpool squad for the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea.
It was officially due to a flu virus, but manager Jurgen Klopp did reply “I have no idea, we’ll see what happens” when asked if Lovren would stay at Anfield this season.
Lovren would cost in the region of €16m, although he is already 30 years old and Rugani 25.
The Croatia international would bring a great deal of experience to the Giallorossi after five years at Liverpool.
