Luciano Spalletti admits the benchmark “at the moment is Juventus”, as Roma haven’t “taken advantage of chances”.
The Giallorossi were defeated by Atalanta in Bergamo on Sunday, a result which saw them slip seven points behind the Old Lady.
“It’s clear that if you ask what the maximum is, as the moment it’s Juventus,” Spalletti told reporters in his Press conference ahead of the Viktoria Plzen match.

“They win with minimal effort and they show authority, a mental and physical strength where incidents always bring out their maximum.
“As for ourselves, if we’d taken advantage of chances which fell to us we’d definitely have brought home a different result.
“We tell the truth, you [the media] said that there was a shock or a ruckus at the team meeting. You told a lie, you in general.
“Now they’ve lost and they’re in difficulty, let’s put this on them too. I don’t understand how someone could come out with something totally invented.”
Spalletti was also asked about the injured players, and admits he’s not sure if Francesco Totti will be called-up for tomorrow.
“[Thomas] Vermaelen had his first training session with the group, it was positive and we’re very satisfied.
“[Alessandro] Florenzi and Mario Rui are continuing with their planned recoveries. Totti has this hip injury, we’ll increase the workload in training today.
“He hasn’t been training with the team, and we’ll see how he responds. I can’t tell you if he’ll be called or not.”
