Roma are back in the running for free agent Florian Grillitsch after he failed to agree personal terms with Fiorentina.

The Austria international is available this summer, as his contract with TSG Hoffenheim will run out on June 30.

He had seemed all set for a move to the Viola when his agent visited Florence last week, even publishing images of his trip on Instagram Stories.

However, Grillitsch, his representative and Fiorentina were unable to agree personal terms and the move was if not abandoned, then certainly put on the back-burner.

Now Tuttomercatoweb claim that Roma are back in the race for Grillitsch, who they had already looked at earlier in the summer, and have set up a meeting with his agent.

Coach Jose Mourinho is an admirer of the midfielder who turns 27 in August and has 33 senior caps for Austria.

Grillitsch only made 18 Bundesliga appearances this season and is still struggling with a muscular injury.
