Roma have exchanged paperwork with Arsenal for Ainsley Maitland-Niles and are in negotiations for FC Porto midfielder Sergio Oliveira, claim multiple reports.

Maitland-Niles arrives on a dry loan for six months and already had his medical in London with the Arsenal doctors.

He is expected to be in Italy on Friday to complete the tests.

That’s not the only reinforcement, as it’s reported this evening that Jose Mourinho will also get Sergio Oliviera from FC Porto.

Il Tempo, Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia all back the same story, first emerging at Maisfutebol, with Roma turning to him after finding it difficult to prise Boubacar Kamara from Olympique Marseille.

The 29-year-old had already been linked with a move to the Giallorossi over the summer and is eager to work with Mourinho.

He scored five goals in 24 competitive appearances for Porto so far this season and was on target against Juventus last term knocking them out of the Champions League.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, Porto had promised Oliveira that he could leave if a suitable offer arrived in January.

His contract in Portugal runs to June 2025 and it’s believed to be a loan with option to buy proposal.

  1. Wrong.

    Let’s Go Brandon!,

We have 8 Italians in the squad and 4 Romanisti in the rotation not accounting for the 8 I just mentioned.

2 Englishmen and 2 Portuguese are hardly revolutionary.
