Roma have reportedly opened talks with Juventus to explore a move for midfielder Denis Zakaria.

The Giallorossi have been forced back onto the transfer market to find a midfield reinforcement following the recent leg break suffered by new arrival Georginio Wijnaldum, who’ll now be kept out of action until 2023. Roma are considering a number of options but will have to make their mind up soon as the transfer market starts to draw to a close.

As reported by SportMediaset, Roma have approached Juventus to inquire about a possible move for Zakaria, who didn’t seem the most convincing under Massimiliano Allegri last campaign.

The Giallorossi are interested in signing the 25-year-old Swiss midfielder on loan and they’re expected to make a final decision at some point in the coming days, with only a week left in the transfer window.

Zakaria has made 14 appearances across all competitions for Juventus following his arrival from Borussia Monchengladbach in January.

  1. Roma is a club that at least wants to compete. It is a step up for him at present. Under PhD Hexagon, there is no future and apparently he does not understand the back, back, down, down. Only King Rabiot and Socrates Arthur have mastered the art of Max’s zombie ball.

  2. I actually think Arthur has a unique profile that could be effective in distribution with a more attacking mindset on the touchline. Rabiot offers a dollop of grinta, but virtually nothing offensively.

  3. We started the transfer market great and now its turning into a disaster. Zakaria has been one of the better performing midfielders and he should definitely stay.

  4. Not again…when will this mercato be over. Why don’t they take Authur instead. I like this guy but it’s sad he doesn’t get to play his natural position…like others.
