Roma’s appeal against their 3-0 defeat by default against Verona has been rejected.
The Giallorossi lodged an appeal after they were handed a 3-0 defeat by default in Serie A MD1 away at Verona.
The match ended 0-0 but the Capitolines irregularly fielded Amadou Diawara.
The midfielder turned 23 in July, so was no longer eligible for the Under-22 list that he had been on last season.
However, Diawara was not registered on the senior player list, even after the Lega Serie A informed Roma of the error.

The FIGC court of appeal ruled the club’s appeal was ‘unfounded’ and confirmed Verona’s 3-0 win.
Roma are three points off Serie A table leaders Milan with 14 points in the opening seven games of the season, while Verona have managed 12 points so far.
