Vincent Candela has praised the summer sales of title rivals Roma and Napoli ahead of this week’s Serie A meeting.

“When offers like those for Erik Lamela [Tottenham], Edinson Cavani and Marquinhos [both Paris Saint-Germain] arrive then you just can’t say no.
“Despite those exits, the two clubs were able to strengthen their sides. Look at what the Azzurri have done with Gonzalo Higuain…”
Roma have won seven from seven so far this season, while Rafael Benitez’s Napoli are just two points behind in second place.
“For now, the facts say that Roma and Napoli can both fight for the championship,” the former France international added.
“Not many expected Friday’s game to be between the top two in the table. They play good football and that is a good message.”
