“The agreement will be formalised tomorrow, certainly with the satisfaction of all concerned,” declared Sabatini on Sky Sport Italia.

Roma director Walter Sabatini confirmed “the agreement for Alessio Romagnoli will be finalised tomorrow” with Milan.

Sabatini met with Rossoneri CEO Adriano Galliani on the beach at Forte dei Marmi this evening to work out the details of a transfer.

“The agreement will be formalised tomorrow, certainly with the satisfaction of all concerned,” declared Sabatini on Sky Sport Italia.

This follows on from Galliani’s comment that the deal was “99.8 per cent” done, reportedly for €25m plus €5m bonuses.

"Everyone is satisfied with the terms," added Galliani later. "We are very, very, very close. The player has to undergo his medical and Roma are floated on the stock exchange, so they will dictate the timing of announcements."

Romagnoli could well go to Milan for a medical on Monday, despite the fact he is called for Under-21 international duty.

“We will now ask those responsible for the Under-21 side to release him, because he needs to have a medical,” said Sabatini.

“I saluted Romagnoli and told him to put himself at the disposal of Milan.”

He also added that “the journalists in Rome have every right to be angry” at the sale of the youth product.
