Roma are expected to go all out to sign Juventus outcast Federico Chiesa if Paulo Dybala accepts a lucrative contract offer from Saudi Arabia, according to Thursday morning’s reports.

Dybala has been subject of interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah, who are prepared to offer tens of millions across a reported three-year deal.

There are conflicting reports over the exact figure of the salary offer, as Corriere dello Sport quotes €60m, La Gazzetta says €80m and Tuttosport claims ‘up to’ €100m.

All of Italy’s major sports papers claim on Thursday’s front pages that the Giallorossi are open to letting Dybala leave if his head is turned by the Saudi proposal.

Roma want Chiesa to replace Dybala

Tuttosport claim that Roma will turn their attention in Chiesa’s direction if Dybala does decide to move to the Saudi Pro League before the end of the transfer window.

The Giallorossi are also weighing up a move for former Sassuolo and Atalanta forward Jeremie Boga, who Florent Ghisolfi signed for Nice when he was still with the Ligue 1 club last summer.

Dybala latest

Tuttosport claim that Dybala has been offered a contract of €20m across a three-year deal, plus bonuses, and an option of a fourth year to take the total payment close to the ‘€100m’ mark they quoted on Thursday’s front page.

The player himself has not yet come to a decision either way, but they expect him to have made up his mind by the beginning of next week.

Roma will make the trip to Cagliari on Sunday evening for their first engagement of the 2024-25 Serie A season. Dybala is not expected to start, but could appear from the bench.

  1. Why replacing a player who had a good season with a play who flopped last season, bad decision making and stupid
