While Roma wait to officially complete the signing of former Manchester City left-back Angelino from RB Leipzig, sporting director Tiago Pinto is also hoping to strike a deal with Empoli for recent goalscorer Tommaso Baldanzi.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Roma have an agreement in place with RB Leipzig to bring Angelino to the Stadio Olimpico on loan with an option to buy for a reported fee of €5m. The Giallorossi are now waiting for the necessary documents to be signed, which will also bring an official end to Angelino’s current loan spell with Galatasaray.
However, the business doesn’t end there for Roma. Baldanzi has also been linked with a move to the capital since the appointment of Daniele De Rossi as head coach.
Tiago Pinto is waiting for the final approval from the Friedkins to place an official offer for Baldanzi.
According to information from Calciomercato.it, Roma are hoping to bring Baldanzi in on loan with an obligation to buy for a fee in the region of €13m-€15m, with a possible sell-on clause included and the potential for a young player to move in the opposite direction.
Baldanzi has made 14 Serie A appearances for Empoli so far this season, and despite injury struggles towards the end of 2023, he registered an equalising goal off the bench in the 1-1 draw against Juventus on Saturday evening.
